As I stand at the edge of a cliff
Staring down
I wonder, "Will you be there to catch me when I fall?
Or will the waves surround me as I drown
Or does a crueller fate await
As the bones crush and disintegrate
I step back, the moment has passed
I will not be pushed
Nor will I flail
If it's all just a matter of circumstance
What would it really matter
If I took a chance
If all we are, are bodies
possessed by a soul
the good and the evil
No one really knows
And the mistakes we make condemn us
Turn us so that no one recognises
The good that lies behind
